Publisher Kodansha has announced the anime adaptation of the novel Kaiko Sareta Ankoku Heishi (30-Dai) no Slow na Second Life (The Slow Second Life of the Retired Dark Soldier in His 30s) by Rokujuyon Okazawa!

Synopsis:

Dariel (30), cannot use magic while in the Demon Lord's army, but uses his intelligence and initiative as an assistant to one of the Dark Lord's most trusted captains. But when the captain is replaced, Dariel also loses his privileged position and is dismissed.

Disappointed, he retreats to a village of humans, making a fresh start in life by using his abilities to help those in need.
